Some important items in today's update...

Holographic Foil Looks Great!

I just received a few snapshots of the Mercury holographic foil being proofed. These are not final tuckbox proofs but just tests of one of the foil colors, but you can get a good idea of what the holographic foil actually looks like.

Earth Artwork Concept

Now that the Venus artwork is completed and submitted to USPC for prepping, Srdjan has started working on artwork for our home planet. The basic concept is to take inspiration from standard Bicycle courts and apply the art style that he's been using for the other planets. This deck will (and should) feel the most familiar to most of you and I'm very excited about it myself. Here's a first look at some of the Earth court cards...

Additional Mercury Delays

After some missing communication from the tuck printer (clearly due to Mercury having been in retrograde), I finally received the images above along with the information that the Mercury tucks will be delivered for assembly next Tuesday (Jan 2nd). Gluing/folding will take a couple days and then assembly of decks into tucks + sticker seals (all this is done by hand, mind you) will be 3 more days, and then finally fulfillment will begin and your decks will start making their way into your very patient hands. Rough estimation at the moment for shipping to start is Jan 11th/12th and I'll be sure to post any updates I receive.

Again, I apologize for the ongoing delays. Due to holidays and the retrograde mentioned above, I've been receiving very sparse communication/details and I'm sharing with you what I know when I know it.

Due to the Mercury delays (and subsequent Venus proof delays), I'm planning to push back the Venus launch to Feb 1st (tentatively). Again, I'll post any updates/changes as soon as I have info to share.

Happy Holidays everyone!

Another quick update...it seems there was a delay in the Mercury tuckboxes getting printed. The box printing should be completed before the end of this week and assembly/fulfillment will take place shortly after that. I'm expecting decks will still be shipping out before the end of the month but sadly they won't be in your hands before Christmas.

On a more exciting note, the artwork for Venus is now completed and I wanted to share a couple images with you...

I hope to have more good news for you soon and look forward to getting these amazing cards to you as soon as possible.

Quick update on expected ship dates

Hey all,

I was really hoping to get Mercury decks into your hands before Christmas, but unfortunately it's seeming less likely this will happen...

It looks like assembly of the decks will be a little later than I had initially expected. With holiday season coming up, Art of Play is a bit backed up so the assembly of tuckboxes is currently planned around mid-December. I'm still hoping to get US orders shipped out in time to arrive by Christmas but no guarantees at the moment. International orders will need to be sent first to Keen Hong (our international fulfillment partner) before being sent out to backers so I'm expecting international orders will likely start arriving at the end of December or early January.

More updates and artwork to share coming soon...

BIG UPDATE: Decks are printed + survey reminder + new art

Greetings all!

I have some exciting images to share (see below), but first a little business...also, a quick reminder to please join the project development discussion and share your ideas/opinions on the design of the complete series.

Surveys needed to ship rewards!

There are 53 backers (you know who you are) who have not completed their BackerKit surveys. You must complete your survey if you want me to send you your Mercury decks! If you don't see an email from BackerKit then go to the survey recovery page and enter your Kickstarter email address.

(Note: this does not apply to anyone who has ordered a full set of 8 planets).

Mercury decks received from USPC

The decks themselves are done and have been received in San Diego where they await assembly into the tuckboxes, which will be completed soon. They look awesome! Here's some photos:

Venus sneak peak + all tuckboxes

After some discussion, the plan is to make the Venus courts entirely female, as Venus is associated with femininity & beauty.

We've revised the Planet color scheme based on input from a few people. The final colors will be: 

• Mercury: Copper 
• Venus: Magenta (feminine/beauty) 
• Earth: Green 
• Mars: Red 
• Jupiter: Purple (royal/regal/grand expansion) 
• Saturn: Gold (wealth/value) 
• Uranus: Silver (innovation/electricity/surprise) 
• Neptune: Blue (water/Triton/Neptune)

More exciting progress is in the works and I will share updates when there's anything worthwhile to tell you.

Surveys sent (Mercury-only backers)

Hey folks,

Just a quick note to mention that BackerKit surveys have been sent out to anyone who has backed a tier that includes only Mercury decks (not full sets). If you haven't completed your survey yet, please check your email for a message from BackerKit (and check your spam as well, just in case). 

It is important that you complete your survey if you want to receive your decks! This includes verifying your shipping address, which of course I will need in order to send you a package. I'm still waiting for 175 people to complete their BackerKit surveys.
